Confederation Details

Maryland Bobcats FC is a soccer organization based in Montgomery County, Maryland, founded in 2016. Rising through the ranks of local and national amateur leagues, the club now has its professional team competing in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), marking them as a participant in the third division of U.S. Soccer. Besides the professional team, the Bobcats also field teams in the Maryland Super Soccer League and the United Premier Soccer League.

History
The Early Years
Maryland Bobcats got established as a men's amateur team that underwent several name changes initially, settling on World Class Premier Elite (WCP) as they gained prominence. By the spring of 2018, WCP had not one but two men's teams playing in separate parts of the Washington D.C. metro area. That year, they were crowned the Washington Premier League (WPL) champions and the Maryland Major Soccer League (MMSL).

Stepping Up
The fall of 2018 saw World Class Premier participate in the 2019 U.S. Open Cup qualification tournament. They reached the final round but lost to Virginia United FC in a penalty shootout. The club joined the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) in November 2018, competing in the Northeast Conference. Their home games took place at Montgomery Blair High School stadium.

Ascendancy and Name Change
In the 2019 Spring, WCP went nearly undefeated (9-0-1) in the UPSL Mid-Atlantic Division North. They won the Division playoffs and advanced to the National Quarterfinals. The team went undefeated the following season and won the UPSL Fall 2019 National Championship. During this season, the club rebranded itself to Maryland Bobcats FC.

The Professional Era
In 2020, the Maryland Bobcats joined the Eastern Premier Soccer League and participated in NISA's inaugural Independent Cup. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, they emerged as winners of the Mid-Atlantic region. The club was officially accepted into NISA in October 2020 and began its professional journey in the fall of 2021.

Supporters
The primary supporters' group, the Old Bae Brigade, originated from friends who attended D.C. United matches. Over the years, they have established unique traditions, such as delivering a "Bobcat Fact of the Match" and accentuating the "O" in the American National Anthem, much like Baltimore Orioles fans.
