The initial contact with the ball the player makes when receiving it. A good first touch is controlled in power and direction.
- If the ball travels in a direction not intended by the player as he or she receives it. Then he/she is said to have had a bad “first touch.”
- Vice Versa: If the ball can control the ball with the first contact or push it in the desired direction. Then he is said to have had an excellent “first touch.”
